Travelling to Singapore: A How-To Guide

Q1 Do I need a visa for entry into Singapore?

A visa may be required to enter Singapore for non-Singapore citizens. It is the responsibility of Participants to ensure that passports, travel documents and visas are valid for travel. We would advise you to allow sufficient time to make your own inquiries or check with your travel agent.

For a list of countries that require a valid Visa for entry into Singapore, you can check the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)’s website, or enquire at the Singapore Overseas Mission closest to you.

Q2 How do I obtain a Visa invitation letter?
If you require any assistance in obtaining an invitation letter to apply for a visa or in other matters, please contact APAA 2023 Secretariat for assistance.

Q3 How do I check for the period of stay granted?
From 11 March 2022, all foreign visitors arriving in Singapore will be notified digitally of their Visit Pass (e-Pass) through email. There will not be any endorsement on your passport. The e-Pass notification will indicate the period of stay granted and last day of stay allowed. Please ensure that you provide a valid email address when submitting the SG Arrival Card.

Q4 Are there any documents that I need to fill in upon arrival?

The SG Arrival Card must be completed and submitted before entry into Singapore. This can be done up to three days before your visit. You can visit the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority website to submit your arrival information.

Please note, SG Arrival Card is not a visa. Please refer to SG Arrival Card e-Service for more information.

Q5 Are there any convenient services I can use when departing from Singapore?
Travellers who are eligible for automated immigration may use the enhanced Automated Clearance System (eIACS). While this service usually extends to Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, Long Term Pass Holders and Work Pass Holders, frequent travellers to Singapore may be eligible for it under the ICA’s Frequent Traveller Programme.

Q6 Are there any COVID-19 restrictions and/or border measures in Singapore?
All COVID-19 related border measures have been lifted since 13 February 2023. While there are no longer any COVID-19 border measures, the Vaccinated Travel Framework remains in place for reactivation in the event of any international developments of concern. There may also be other administrative or health requirements for entry into Singapore, depending on your country of departure. You are advised to check the ICA website for the latest border measures before entering Singapore.
