In the morning, you will visit the ethnic areas of Singapore – Little India, Kampong Glam & Chinatown, and discover the culture & traditions of Singapore’s multiracial communities.

Spend the afternoon at a Chinese Tea House for a tea appreciation session. Alternatively, tour a local brewery or distillery.

Enjoy spectacular views of Singapore from over 100 meters above sea level onboard the cable car that connects Singapore’s mainland to Sentosa, an island getaway popular with the locals. Thereafter, enjoy a leisurely walk on Mount Faber and admire the natural scenery. Finally, board The Royal Albatross – Asia’s only luxury tall ship – for a buffet lunch on-deck followed by a relaxing afternoon of sailing.

Dragon boat is a human-powered boat traditionally made of teak wood and currently it comes in various designs and sizes. With history dating back to the third century B.C in China, dragon boat races are traditionally held as part of the annual Duanwu Festival.

Dragon boating is an activity that consists of a tremendous group of people with one single goal, working together selflessly to achieve a communal objective of reaching the finish line.

Work together with your fellow dragon boaters as a team to achieve the unified goal of being the first to cross the finishing line in your dragon boat. Wrap up the excursion with a sumptuous lunch treat and with a view of the coastline.

• This outdoor activity requires good physical fitness and endurance level, with exposure to the sun, water and warm/wet weather.
• Wear water resistant clothing (e.g. sports jersey, shorts, gym attire, bathing suit underneath, etc.) and water-resistant shoes or go barefoot in the boats. Flip flops are NOT recommended in the boat.
• Prepare a towel and a spare set of attire and shoes to change after dragon boating as you are likely to get wet and you want to be dry for lunch.

The Peranakan are Straits-born people of Chinese and Malay/Indonesian heritage. Visit the Fort Canning Experiment Garden to experience, touch and smell the exotic spices used in Peranakan cuisine, before sampling Peranakan cuisine at a cosy Peranakan shop tucked in the east of Singapore. Then, explore the Joo Chiat and Katong areas, which are known for their colourful charm from their past as a Peranakan enclave.

Enjoy a Peranakan lunch at Baba Chews Bar and Eatery which is a restaurant inspired by our neighbourhood – Katong. The name “Baba Chews” pays homage to Mr. Chew Joo Chiat (1857–1926), a wealthy local Chinese landowner and philanthropist, known as the ‘King of Katong’ for his contributions to the local community.  The restaurant sits on the site of the former Joo Chiat Police Station (1928 – 1987), which was granted conservation status by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) of Singapore for its architectural & heritage value.

Singapore’s  peranakan heritage – DESSERT MAKING CLASS

We head to cooking class, where you will learn to prepare two traditional Peranakan desserts – onde-onde and kuih dadar. Nyonya kueh are bite-size cakes, sweets and snacks that are a big part of Peranakan cuisine. Nyonya kueh are often colourful and always addictively delicious. There are over a hundred varieties – this post traces their origins and highlights a selection of the most popular ones.

Be transported back in time to 1960s Singapore as you embark on a trip to Pulau Ubin to explore this 1,020-hectare island home to Singapore’s last village or kampongs, historical sites, alongside coconut rubber plantations and fish farms.

We will cycle around Pulau Ubin, passing through/by points of interest such as Pekan Quarry, Jelutong Bridge, Puaka Hill, German Girl Shrine, Balai Quarry Viewpoint, Sungei Awang Minyak and Sensory Trail. We will also enjoy lunch at a local eatery on the island.

• This is an outdoor activity that requires good physical fitness and endurance level.
• The cycling route will be on a natural terrain which could include muddy, sloping, forestry areas. Hence you should have advanced cycling skills and experience to safely enjoy this excursion.

• Prepare a spare set of attire and shoes to change as you may get wet or dirtied. Shower facilities are not available.

The Singapore Zoo houses the largest captive colony of orangutans in the world and has been highly ranked by various international metrics. The animals are exhibited in naturalistic, ‘open’ exhibits with hidden barriers or glass between the animals and visitors.

After a buffet lunch at the Zoo, visit the River Wonders Singapore, a river-themed wildlife park where you will get to meet creatures that live in river ecosystems around the world.

Wander into Wild Amazonia and set sail on the Amazon River Quest, an easy 10-minute boat ride that lets you meet some of the amazing wildlife from the world’s largest tropical rainforest.

Calling all APAA Cricketers! Singapore heard you, so do join us for a game of cricket at one of the oldest cricket-playing clubs in Singapore. Do not worry if you are not an expert or if you are a little out of practice. It will be a limited-overs match – probably 30 to 35 overs a side – and a curry lunch will be served at the end of the match. If you would rather watch than play, you will be most welcome as a spectator. Please bring whites or other suitable gear.

The Golf Tournament will be held at the Tanah Merah Country Club. First opened for play in 1988, the Tanah Merah Country Club underwent a major redevelopment in 2017. In 2022 the Tanah Merah Country Club hosted 3 international tournaments including the International Series, Hana Singapore Ladies Open and the Asian Tour. With its beautiful rolling hills and large greens, this club promises a fun, challenging and memorable experience for all golfers at all levels.
